tujuh ratus dua puluh enam

dua puluh enam
...
i am going to go skydiving. i am. seriously.
...

Pretty proud to say that I've done something I said I was gonna do four years ago, today.

Wow, that's exactly 700 posts in 4 years!

I can't believe I've committed to blogging for so long hahah. Good one Prita.

Soon, I will also be doing a 21st-bucket list (things I must do while being 21 years old).

And a show-offy list of what I'm proud to have achieved (... was that semi-correct grammar or not even close?).

One day, during this semester, I helped Oli out with Design through some GIS work.
He gave me two stars that he sticked on to my computer in SESE (yes I have my own computer in SESE).

I walked in tonight to find one wripped off of my computer and the other moved to the side, instead of the bottom of my monitor.

WHO DARED MOVE MY STARS!

So what's been happening in the past week?

The allnighter Sun-Mon for hydrogeology tutes.
Monday I was chillaxin all day.
Tuesday was design stress til late.
Continued til Wednesday morning when I submitted our final report 45 minutes late (10.45am)
Can't remember what I did the rest of Wednesday.
Thursday finishing hydrogeology essay, til Friday.
Friday EOSS at the tav with Jacqui and Terri and Michael and Nicole and Jess and Terri's other friends who I can't remember the names of.
Then off to the city to experience the snow with Jacqui and Michael - dropped Michael off at the bus stop, bought some nail polish and eyeliner with Jacqui (two of the least make-upy, girly ladies of SESE buying nail polish and eyeliner??)
Then home.
Watch Tintin the movie this morning; pretty damn brilliant, it was like a combination of Pirates of the Caribbean and Indiana Jones (some of the best, most entertaining movies in the world).
Work Sat night, pretty bummed I missed out on Banff Mountain Film Festival, it was the final screening.

I just went to NB for a quick bubble tea run on one of my Saturday sessions with Raymond. He was so ready to club and I was in my PJs, I wonder if we would've gone out had I been wearing something more fancy schmancy.. MAN IT WOULDVE BEEN EPIC. Just us two casually hitting metros/air/canvas/court? Yes please.

Wow what a boring blog post.

To da thesis folks; it's the final push guys! So close, give it your all! It's gon feel so good!

Feeling fat coz I haven't cycled at all this week due to crazy due dates and late nights, which lead to stress, which lead to unhealthy, junk food pretty much every night. Fat fat fatty. Will cycle to uni nearly every day next week for my experiments. And will do zumba and yoga. It'll be sweet.

For this semester, I'll write my thank you post some time soon.

Cheers big ears.

M: What do you reckon handing in thesis would feel like, F?
F: Better than sex! Hahah!
Everyone: Hahahah!
P: What do you think, M?
M: ..... (T walks in)
P: Answer the question, M!
M: No..!
T: What is it?
M: (tells T the question)
T: Oh.. I reckon yes!
Everyone: What? Hahahahah!
P: Obviously M has better sex than T!
Everyone: Hahahahah!
P: Props to S!
Everyone: Hahahahah!
P: You've done your woman good, S!
Everyone: Hahahahah!
P: OMG I DIDN'T MEAN IT LITERALLY!
(S finally comes over after all the commotion)
P: Tells S the story
S: Hell yes! Victory lap!

Oh man, P's face was so red. One of the funniest conversations.

tujuh ratus dua puluh dua

So last night, Nura and I pulled an allnighter, Melissa stayed up until 3 and woke up at 6, Terri pulled an allnighter, I know Hani was still awake at 3, and Pranathi also pulled an allnighter.

Safe to say we have absolutely underestimated these assignments. And we're not even done with hydrogeo yet. The thing is, I feel really really bad for not starting earlier and actually FINISHING the assignments with DECENT quality, because Ryan is a really good lecturer, he deserves much better than this. Damn good lecturers, making us feel bad.

Funniest part was when Michael walked in at about 8 am and there we were still in the same clothes. And that was my queue to leave.

SESE 20th anniversary dinner was brilliant! Caught up with alumni, D-Okie and Ben. My table was the table to be at, the greatest: Michael JC, Sally Ricky, Chris Jane, Oli, Sarah, Toni. Everytime someone leaves, someone else (ie George, Dan, Ben or Kathy or Amy) would come over. It was definitely a good night with the SESE crew.

The funniest moment, was definitely the one with Jackson though. Let's just say that he would go gay for one of the lecturers and he said it right behind the lecturer. And I was like - you need to shush right now!

Aw bless

NATGEO/NORTHFACE/MSU TEAM SUCCESS!

The South Ridge original five reached the summit safely and returned back down safely too! Good job to Kris Sam, Hilaree, Mark and Emily; they all summitted Friday morning! Conrad decided not to go up coz he literally just went up to Camp 4 from Camp 2 and was exhausted.

Howevs!

Conrad changed his mind and went up yesterday! Summitted safely and was back in Camp 2 yesterday, with Kris, Hilaree and Sam; Kris and Hilaree just summitted Lhotse too! Far out brussel sprout! Fit as! It was Conrad's first summit through the South Ridge route, his previous two were from the Tibetan side. The guys on Camp 2 should be back in Base Camp today, to meet Mark, Emily, Panuru, Danuru & Jangbu who were all back in Base Camp yesterday.

Nobody died on the second window so that's all cool cool!

Really, well done to everyone, including the guys on the other expeditions too. Really good job. Glad to know most of you all, who climbed in 2012 summer season, got back down alive. To the four who had passed, you will be remembered, and your spirits join others that linger on Sagarmatha, guards of the top of the world.

Sherpas, you continue to be incredibly bad ass. Your badassery when it comes to high altitude climbing is amazing. Too easy.

tujuh ratus dua puluh

They left Camp 3 for Camp 4 on the South Col this morning at 6.

The final summit push, they said, would be on the weather window of the 25th and 26th - I think that means midnight tonight or midnight tomorrow night.

4 dead and 2 injured from the first summit bid on the 18th and 19th. And there are over 100 making use of this second window tomorrow.

I'm not feeling it. 100 people creeping up the Hillary step. I'm not feeling it.

To everyone making the summit bid tomorrow: the various expeditions and the North Face/NatGeo/MSU team please please don't get summit fever - the turn around time is 2pm the latest, if you haven't passed the south summit at that time, TURN AROUND.

Don't get summit fever.

This is the first time I follow an Everest Expedition so closely - all the best!

Conrad, Sam, Kris, Hilaree, Emily, Mark; good luck.
